“TJ” Kackowski

TJ hails from Connecticut, but enjoys the freedoms and affordability of living in Indiana.  He’s been a full-time resident of the Hoosier state since starting college in 1981 at a small engineering school in Terre Haute.  

TJ has been a firearms enthusiast his entire life.  He decided to become a firearms instructor after witnessing first-hand what can be taught in simple and easily understood drills when his daughter attended a Project Appleseed Basic Rifle course.  He attained Event Director Status in Project Appleseed, and served as the Indiana State Coordinator for that program.  

When Revere’s Riders was formed, he joined up to continue teaching people how to safely and accurately shoot their rifles and pistols.  He currently holds the following Revere’s Riders Instructor certifications:  Basic Rifle (Master), Pistol (Master), Storyteller (Master), and Event Director (Master).  

TJ is also an NRA certified Shotgun, Rifle, and Pistol Instructor, as well as RSO.  

In addition to volunteering for Revere’s Riders, TJ has also been a registered Boy Scout Leader since 1999 and has helped to safely lead 7 different Crews to hike at Philmont and then back home.  

TJ currently lives in Brownsburg with his beautiful bride.  In their free time, they enjoy playing with their grandchildren.
