DESCRIPTION:Intro to 3-Gun Overview\nEver wonder what 3-Gun events are like?  Here is your chance to find out.  This event will give you the introduction you are looking for. Grab your favorite rifle\, pistol and shotgun and join us. \nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds pistol\, 150 rounds rifle\, 50 rounds birdshot\, and 5 rounds shotgun slugs. \nFirearms Requirements:  Magazine-fed semi-automatic or bolt action rifle\, semi-automatic or revolver pistol and a semi-automatic or pump shotgun in good condition. \nRequired Equipment: Please plan to bring the following: \n\ncase for each of your firearms\nminimum two (2) magazines for your rifle and pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\nlunch (there are no restaurants sufficiently close to the range but the range will offer lunch for a donation if you do not want to pack food)\n\nIt is helpful that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nmagazine pouches for your rifle\, pistol and shotgun ammo\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nsun shade/pop-up canopy (we will be setting up down range without overhead cover)\nfolding chair\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview:  Intro to 3-GUN: \nThree-gun is a fast-paced shoot and move event using a rifle\, shotgun\, and pistol to engage various sized targets from 3 yards-300 yards. We will be on the 600 yard range\, setting our firing line up at the 300 yard line. Be prepared to stage your gear about 350yds away from the parking lot. \nShooters will engage multiple steel targets with their centerfire rifle with distances ranging from 50-300 yards. From there\, you will safe and ground your rifle and move over to your awaiting shotgun and engage a single silhouette target about 50 yards away with a slug. Then you will engage small reactive steel 5-15 yards away with birdshot. Once complete\, you will safe and ground your shotgun and move on to the pistol portion of the course. At the pistol stage you will engage cardboard silhouette targets from around a barricade using one hand only. Each cardboard target will be engaged twice (with only “hits” counting in the marked portion of the target). Be prepared to shoot both right and left-handed at ranges of 3-10 yards. You will then move on to a set of steel reactive targets and a single silhouette with a gong flapper (only a hit on the flapper portion counts). \nYour round count for a perfect round will be: \n\n10 rounds rifle\n1 slug\n8 birdshot\n31 pistol\n\nSaturday will start with a safety briefing for the weekend.  Then we will provide an introduction to 3-gun events. This will include a review of the history of 3-gun\, overview of participation classes available and the related rules\, and how a typical event is organized. That will be followed with instructions on the firearms handling procedures you will need/use on the range and introductory tips on how to navigate the various stages.  Then we will move to the firing line and walk through the stages without firearms. Then we will shoot a live fire practice without time pressure.  Sunday will entail shooting the course for time as an actual event. You can expect to get multiple attempts at the course for time on Sunday. \nSpots are limited to 10 shooters to accommodate multiple runs for each shooter. There will be a range fee of $10 for the event. Please bring cash on Saturday for this fee.  We will start with registration/safety brief/walkthrough at 9:00am both days. A lunch will be available for donation both days. We will go until 3:30pm and then clean up. Help with clean-up will be greatly appreciated. All targets need returned to storage and all brass\, hulls\, and wads cleaned up from the range. \nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nDuring our breaks\, you will hear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. Paul Revere did not ride alone – many individuals played crucial roles in the events of April 19th\, 1775. \nThis history presentation begins with alarm riders warning “the Regulars are out!” You’ll hear about the dramatic stand on Lexington Green and the “shots heard ’round the world” at Concord’s North Bridge. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 18 mile “battle road” as the British retreated back to Boston. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout both days of the event. \nAdditional Event Information\nThis is a two day event.  The club allows shooters to either tent camp onsite or bunk in the clubhouse for the weekend. Your event director and several of the instructors will be onsite for the entire weekend so you will have company if you choose to camp with us. If you do choose camp\, you will have access to the restrooms and the kitchen in the main clubhouse for the weekend. \nReminder; there will be a $10/person range fee for ALL attendees for the weekend. Please bring cash with you to cover this fee.
