SUMMARY:Intro to 3-Gun - Two Day - May 16-17\, 2026 - (Midvale\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Intro to 3-Gun Overview\nEver wonder what 3-Gun events are like?  Here is your chance to find out.  This event will give you the introduction you are looking for. Grab your favorite rifle\, pistol and shotgun and join us. \nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds pistol\, 150 rounds rifle\, 50 rounds birdshot\, and 5 rounds shotgun slugs. \nFirearms Requirements:  Magazine-fed semi-automatic or bolt action rifle\, semi-automatic or revolver pistol and a semi-automatic or pump shotgun in good condition. \nRequired Equipment: Please plan to bring the following: \n\ncase for each of your firearms\nminimum two (2) magazines for your rifle and pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\nlunch (there are no restaurants sufficiently close to the range but the range will offer lunch for a donation if you do not want to pack food)\n\nIt is helpful that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nmagazine pouches for your rifle\, pistol and shotgun ammo\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nsun shade/pop-up canopy (we will be setting up down range without overhead cover)\nfolding chair\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview:  Intro to 3-GUN: \nThree-gun is a fast-paced shoot and move event using a rifle\, shotgun\, and pistol to engage various sized targets from 3 yards-300 yards. We will be on the 600 yard range\, setting our firing line up at the 300 yard line. Be prepared to stage your gear about 350yds away from the parking lot. \nShooters will engage multiple steel targets with their centerfire rifle with distances ranging from 50-300 yards. From there\, you will safe and ground your rifle and move over to your awaiting shotgun and engage a single silhouette target about 50 yards away with a slug. Then you will engage small reactive steel 5-15 yards away with birdshot. Once complete\, you will safe and ground your shotgun and move on to the pistol portion of the course. At the pistol stage you will engage cardboard silhouette targets from around a barricade using one hand only. Each cardboard target will be engaged twice (with only “hits” counting in the marked portion of the target). Be prepared to shoot both right and left-handed at ranges of 3-10 yards. You will then move on to a set of steel reactive targets and a single silhouette with a gong flapper (only a hit on the flapper portion counts). \nYour round count for a perfect round will be: \n\n10 rounds rifle\n1 slug\n8 birdshot\n31 pistol\n\nSaturday will start with a safety briefing for the weekend.  Then we will provide an introduction to 3-gun events. This will include a review of the history of 3-gun\, overview of participation classes available and the related rules\, and how a typical event is organized. That will be followed with instructions on the firearms handling procedures you will need/use on the range and introductory tips on how to navigate the various stages.  Then we will move to the firing line and walk through the stages without firearms. Then we will shoot a live fire practice without time pressure.  Sunday will entail shooting the course for time as an actual event. You can expect to get multiple attempts at the course for time on Sunday. \nSpots are limited to 10 shooters to accommodate multiple runs for each shooter. There will be a range fee of $10 for the event. Please bring cash on Saturday for this fee.  We will start with registration/safety brief/walkthrough at 9:00am both days. A lunch will be available for donation both days. We will go until 3:30pm and then clean up. Help with clean-up will be greatly appreciated. All targets need returned to storage and all brass\, hulls\, and wads cleaned up from the range. \nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nDuring our breaks\, you will hear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. Paul Revere did not ride alone – many individuals played crucial roles in the events of April 19th\, 1775. \nThis history presentation begins with alarm riders warning “the Regulars are out!” You’ll hear about the dramatic stand on Lexington Green and the “shots heard ’round the world” at Concord’s North Bridge. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 18 mile “battle road” as the British retreated back to Boston. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout both days of the event. \nAdditional Event Information\nThis is a two day event.  The club allows shooters to either tent camp onsite or bunk in the clubhouse for the weekend. Your event director and several of the instructors will be onsite for the entire weekend so you will have company if you choose to camp with us. If you do choose camp\, you will have access to the restrooms and the kitchen in the main clubhouse for the weekend. \nReminder; there will be a $10/person range fee for ALL attendees for the weekend. Please bring cash with you to cover this fee.

SUMMARY:Intermediate Pistol — Two Day (Midvale\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Intermediate Pistol Overview\nPrerequisites: This course has no formal prerequisites\, but we recommend that you attend our Basic Pistol offering prior to joining us for this event.  Intermediate Pistol is a fast-paced program covering a lot of instructional points. The course is designed to improve marksmanship fundamentals for our attendees. We suggest that you should have taken some type of entry-level class already and you should already be familiar with the safe handling and operation of your pistol. If you are totally new to firearms/pistols\, you may be better served to attend our Basic Pistol course which has a slower pace. \nAttendees between ages 14-18 years must be accompanied by a parent for the entire event.  If under age of 14\, contact the Event Director to review their skills and get approval for their participation. \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Please note: this event is limited to .22lr pistols only.  NO CENTERFIRE PISTOLS ARE ALLOWED. You will need about 300 rounds/day. \nPistol Requirements: You will need a safe semi-automatic pistol with a minimum of two (2) functioning magazines of 10 rounds or greater capacity (extra magazines recommended)\, to fully participate in this course. Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nOlder single action pistols manufactured before the 1980s and lacking a transfer bar safety are the most common type of pistol that lack drop safe design features\, as do some military surplus imports from Eastern bloc countries and Taurus PT-series pistols not fixed during an international safety recall in 2015. These pistols may discharge if dropped and pose a potential safety hazard to our volunteers and students\, and are not permitted. If you have concerns about the safety features of your pistol you should have it inspected by an armorer or gunsmith before class. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Pistol equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two magazines for your pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nappropriate clothing.  This is an INDOOR event but choose appropriate clothing (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, and short or no sleeves are discouraged as hot brass will be flying from your neighbor and it can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in event activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your pistol\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. Please contact the Event Director prior to the event if you would like to request a loaner firearm. \nOverview: This course\, based on traditional American service pistol fundamentals is based on a “Hits Count” system. This course covers a  sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. Intermediate Pistol includes classroom and range time with the goal to improve your pistol marksmanship skills. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles and Weaver\, benchrest\, and shooting from low ready positions.\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nDuring the event breaks\, we will share the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 17 mile British retreat on”battle road” back to Boston. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nTime allowing\, there may be some informal “team challenges” on Sunday to spice up the day. You are responsible for bringing a lunch both days.  The range normally offers a lunch on Saturday for a donation.  It’s simple (burgers\, dogs\, chips\, cookies and a drink) but it can save you packing something. \nAdditional Range Information\nTusco Rifle Club allows our attendees to camp on site free of charge.  You can bring your camper (electric hook-up is available)\, pitch a tent\, or bring a cot and bunk in the main clubhouse with the instructors.  We have movie night on the big screen on Friday and Saturday evenings for “campers” so if you have a favorite DVD\, bring it.  We have separate quarters for the ladies and showers are available.  We will also have access to the club’s kitchen for meal prep for breakfast and dinner and the clubhouse is both heated and cooled so its an easy way to join us without the cost of a hotel and restaurant meals. \nAttendees will need a code for the entry gate to enter the property\, this will be provided prior to the event for attendees. \nThe club charges a $10 range fee for the event.  Please bring cash for this charge\, it will be collected at registration.

SUMMARY:Intermediate Rifle (KD) – Two Day (Midvale\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Intermediate Rifle (KD) Overview\nThis is a 2-day\, Intermediate Rifle (AKA: Known Distance or “KD”) event. The event is designed to give attendees the opportunity to stretch their skills to actual distances out to 400 yards. The “course of fire/instruction” is designed for centerfire rifles with slings.  Attendees will shoot from the standard field positions of prone\, seated/kneeling\, and standing. \nPrerequisites: Suggested — Revere’s Basic Rifle event or previous experience with CMP\, High Power or NRA rifle events. \nIf you cannot consistently hit a 5″ circle at 100 yards from the prone position\, or if you are unfamiliar with the standing/seated/prone positions and sling usage\, you will be frustrated at this event. Material from Basic Rifle will be only briefly reviewed.  \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 150 to 200 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in a centerfire caliber of your preference (we will be shooting at distances beyond the effective range of most rimfire calibers). \nPlease make an effort to get a known zero prior to attending (25 yds or 200 yds preferred\, but any known zero will work).  At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt rifle at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there quickly but a good zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate KD equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\ncenterfire rifle of your choice\nsling for your rifle (the US GI sling will work perfectly for this event\, but if you bring another style\, it should be easily adjustable)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\, extras will make things easier\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\,\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or a spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch for both days (Note: range provides lunch for a donation on Sat)\nsnacks and energy bars\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Intermediate Rifle picks up where our Basic Rifle clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship at our Basic Rifle\, learn to apply their skills out to 400 yards\, the Marksman’s quarter-mile. Most importantly\, attendees will learn about your rifle\, your ammo\, and your skill level at real distances. \nIntermediate Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges. Students will learn: \n\nField shooting to known distances out to 400 yds to include target detection\, target identification and basic ballistics calculations\nCalculations of minutes of angle (MOA) changes needed for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nConsiderations for wind adjustments and up-hill/down-hill shooting\nData collection for shooting to known distances with your equipment\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nStudents will be able to challenge the Long Range Qualification Test and other Field Shooting challenges at actual distances; individual events may vary by venue and available distances.\n\nOn Sunday afternoon\, we will move targets out to 600 yds to give folks the opportunity to really “reach out and test” their skills. \nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 contains stories from the first full year of the American war for independence. From the high point of the Evacuation of Boston to the lows of early winter of 1776\, follow the Continental Army as they are forced to flee across New York and New Jersey. Learn about the nearly insurmountable challenges they faced and the hope\, faith and daring that pulled victory out of certain defeat. \nIf you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to face down a huge amphibious armada invading New York City\, shiver around a campfire reading about “summer soldiers and sunshine patriots\,” or gamble it all on a desperate crossing of the Delaware River for “Liberty or Death” then you need to hear the Spirit of 1776. \nThses exciting tales will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable at the start of the event. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Friday and Saturday night. Participants will have access to the club house for restrooms and limited kitchen support for dinner on Saturday night.

At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt rifle by pulling the bolt and aligning the sighting system with the bore at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there but a good zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Rifle 262 equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nsling for your rifle (the US GI sling will work perfectly for this event\, but if you bring another style\, it should be an easily adjustable sling)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Rifle 262 picks up where the introductory Rifle 125 clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship\, learn to apply their skills out to the rifleman’s quarter-mile. Most importantly\, students will learn about their rifle — and their skill level with it at real distances. \nField Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges\, with a focus on the “Rifleman’s quarter-mile” which is 100-400 yards. This class is named for the “MK262” ammunition used by designated marksmen\, but you can be successful at landing hits with ball ammunition and a standard rifle. Students will learn: \n\nField shooting to known distances out to 400 yds to include target detection\, target identification and basic ballistics calculations\nCalculations of minutes of angle (MOA) changes needed for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nConsiderations for wind adjustments and up-hill/down-hill shooting\nData collection for shooting to known distances with your equipment\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nStudents will be able to challenge the Long Range Qualification Test and other Field Shooting challenges at actual distances; individual events may vary by venue and available distances.\n\nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 traces the first full year of the American war for independence. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable on the day of the event. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Friday and Saturday night. Participants will have access to the club house for restrooms and limited kitchen support for dinner on Saturday night.

SUMMARY:Field Rifle Rimfire-KD – Two Day (Midvale\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:This is a RIMFIRE-ONLY event; we will only allow rifles chambered in .22LR. Please leave your centerfire rifle at home. \nField Rifle Rimfire KD Overview\nThis clinic is designed to challenge attendees to accurately shoot their 22LR rifles to known distances out to 200yds.  You will learn the trajectory\, come-ups\, external ballistics and field shooting challenges with your combination of rifle and .22LR ammo. This will be best achieved with a scoped rifle although open sights are certainly acceptable. \nPrerequisites: Suggested — RR Basic Rifle course or previous experience with similar programs such as  CMP’s Rimfire Sporter or other .22LR distance shooting programs. \nIf you are unfamiliar with the standing/seated/prone positions and the proper use of the GI loop sling\, you will be frustrated at this event. Position instructions and proper sling usage will be only briefly reviewed.  \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 200 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same bullet weight\, velocity\, and manufacturer) for this event. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in .22LR (centerfire rifles will not be allowed). It is best if this is a semi-auto rifle but bolt or lever rifles can be accommodated. \nPlease make an effort to get a known zero prior to attending (25 yds is a good starting point).  We will be sighting in at each distance on Saturday so you can learn your elevation adjustments for each known distance. Wind corrections will also be covered at the event. \nRequired Equipment: Please plan to bring the following: \n\ncase for your rifle\nsling for your rifle (the US GI sling will work perfectly for this event\, but if you bring another style\, it should be an easily adjustable sling)\nat least two magazines of ten (10) or more round capacity for your rifle (extras magazines are a good idea)\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nweather appropriate clothing (February weather in Ohio can be anything)\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: A Field Rifle event picks up where the Basic Rifle clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship at 25 yards\, learn to apply their skills at greater distances. Most importantly\, students will learn about their rifle\, their ammo — and their skill level at real distances beyond 25 yards. \nThis “Rimfire-Only” Field Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets out to 200 yds with a .22LR rifle. We will review the basics of IMC\, the ballistics of the .22LR cartridge at various distances\, and other considerations for shooting your .22LR rifle past 25 yards. \nThis event is scheduled for February so the weather will most likely be cold and potentially wet.  Please plan on dressing accordingly.  The firing line is covered but you need to prepare for bad weather as we post/pull targets down range. \nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 traces the first full year of the American war for independence. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable on the day of the event. Please bring cash. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Friday and Saturday night if you want to challenge the elements.  If not\, participants also have the option to bunk in the main club house starting Friday evening at 6PM. There will be access in the club house to restrooms and limited kitchen support for cooking on Friday and Saturday night. \nContact the Event Director if you are planning on joining us on site. srb4085@reagan.com.
