This is short notice, but we just became aware of what sounds like a great virtual event occurring this coming weekend: History Camp America 2021. From the event description:

On Saturday, July 10, join history enthusiasts from across the country to learn, connect, have fun, and explore all things history—without the need to travel. Your registration provides access to all History Camp events as well as videos of every session and historic site tour that you can watch after July 10.

Topics include the following:

  • The Amphibious Assault on Long Island, August 1776” by Ross Schwalm, President, Johannes Schwalm Historical Association

  • George Washington in Cambridge and the Siege of Boston” walking tour by J.L. Bell, proprietor of the Boston 1775 website (video preview)
  • To Arms: How Adams, Revere, Mason, and Henry Helped to Unify their Respective Colonies” by Melissa Bryson
  • The Second Battle of Lexington & Concord; re-inventing the history of the opening engagements of the American Revolution” by Richard C. Wiggin
