Revere’s Riders is honored to have been featured in the December 2025 issue of Shooting Sports USA. Barb Melloni, a 3-time Marty Brown Memorial Invitational™ attendee, authored the article and provides a great summary of the event. In the article intro, Barb writes:
As large as it may seem from the outside, the firearm industry as a whole is more akin to a small, close-knit family. Those who are successful in the long run are those who conduct business with the best of intentions, supporting the Second Amendment mission and all things related to the shooting, hunting and outdoors spaces. With the constant inundation of news stories depicting everything that is going wrong in our world, it’s important to take time and focus on the positive—and that is exactly how I spent a recent weekend.
One of the overarching purposes of the Marty Brown Memorial™ series of events was, and still is, to demonstrate to the public in general that firearms owners care about many of the same things they do (like supporting those battling ovarian cancer). In the course of the 9 years we’ve run the Marty Brown Memorial™ events, we’ve found an outpouring of generosity from companies and individuals in the firearms industry that exceeded our wildest expectations.
The firearms community genuinely has some of the best and most caring people you will ever meet despite what those outside our community might prefer you believe.

Revere’s Riders invites you to join us late next fall for the 10th Annual Marty Brown Memorial Invitational™ (typically held the first weekend of November). As Barb indicates in the article, the event is “by invitation” as it is not an instructional event; participants are expected to “know what they are about” and need little to no supervision. An invitation can be earned by “shooting a score” at one of our Basic Rifle or Intermediate Rifle events or by submitting relevant previous experience to Phil Brown, match director.
We truly run the Marty Brown Memorial Invitational™ as an “informal match” where the priorities are enjoying an afternoon on the range with a fantastic group of fellow Americans, fundraising for ovarian cancer, and competing for the “High Score” trophy, in that order. We’ve had participants from a 14 year-old young lady all the way up to Frank Melloni, a prolific firearms journalist (Frank is published in Guns & Ammo, Shooting Illustrated, Tactical Life, Ballistic Magazine, and Gun Digest among many others) as well as a participant on season 4 of History Channel’s “Top Shot“ series.
Upcoming Basic Rifle and Intermediate Rifle events include:

In 2025, we will be adding an additional “Defensive Rifle” event to the Marty Brown Memorial™ series. Defensive oriented events have become increasingly popular and we’re looking forward to adding this style of shooting to the series going forward. Tentative plans are for this event to be scheduled for first-half of 2026. Sign-up for our email newsletter to make sure you get the latest news on the new Marty Brown Memorial™ Defensive Rifle event.
Revere’s Riders also run many other firearms training events for rifle and pistol at all levels of experience from beginning to expert. Come join us at one of our upcoming events:
